Telia plans to move more tasks from group level to its country units and cut about 900 positions, including consultant roles; roughly 220 further positions would shift mainly from the shared technology unit to the countries. It targets annual gross savings of SEK 1bn, with implementation planned by 31 December, subject to the usual negotiations with employee representatives. In Finland, change negotiations begin that could remove up to 355 jobs according to Yle, while 75 new jobs are expected to be created (Telia, press release, 12 Oct 2026; Yle, 12 Oct 2026). Update (13.10.2026): Estonia and Lithuania are also affected — around 100 jobs in Estonia and up to 85 redundancies in Lithuania alongside 12 new roles; implementation is to be completed by the end of 2026 (ERR, 12 Oct 2026; Delfi, 13 Oct 2026).
