ÖBB Technische Services builds EUR 50 million train hall in Salzburg

ÖBB Technische Services has broken ground on a 127-metre service hall with three tracks for Interregio and regional trains in Salzburg's Lastenstrasse. About EUR 50 million is being invested, financed by ÖBB-Personenverkehr; 50 new jobs are created, bringing the Salzburg workshops to 150 employees. Commissioning is planned for December 2027, and a photovoltaic plant is expected to produce more than 300 MWh a year (LOK Report, 18 Dec 2025).
