RWE to increase stake in Amprion holding company M31

On 16 September 2026 RWE agreed to acquire a further 3% of M31 Beteiligungsgesellschaft, which holds 74.9% of transmission system operator Amprion; RWE's pro-rata interest in Amprion thus rises from 55% to around 58% and RWE becomes M31's majority shareholder. The remaining 25.1% of Amprion is held by RWE Alkaios, a joint venture of RWE and Apollo. Amprion remains an independent transmission system operator under the unbundling rules; the investment continues to be accounted for at equity, the price was not disclosed and completion is subject to regulatory approvals.
