Norwegian renewable energy group Scatec is acquiring the ready-to-build 77 MW Urleasca onshore wind project in Brăila county, south-eastern Romania, from Swedish developer OX2. Total investment is around €168 m (excluding VAT), financed with non-recourse debt and equity at roughly 60% leverage. About 43 MW is secured under a state contract-for-difference at an average €71.3/MWh, with the remaining 34 MW sold on the Romanian wholesale power market. Financial close is targeted for the third quarter of 2026 and commissioning for the second half of 2028. The deal marks Scatec's entry into European onshore wind; the group is already building the 190 MW Dobrun and Sadova solar projects in Romania.
