New tram link across Zurich's Hardbrücke opens

After roughly two and a half years of construction, the new tram connection across the Hardbrücke was officially opened on 8 December 2017, with regular service on the extended line 8 (Hardplatz–Hardbrücke–Escher-Wyss-Platz–Hardturm) starting with the timetable change on 10 December 2017. About 4.7 km of tram tracks and a new interchange hub at Hardbrücke station were built, at a total budget of CHF 130 million.
