ÖBB completes main works at Villach main station

Since 2024 ÖBB has renewed and lengthened the platforms, built new platform roofs, lifts, passenger information, bike-and-ride facilities and a new eastern access, and adapted track, overhead line and signalling. The customer-relevant main works are finished; remaining works and removal of the site facilities follow until 2027. Announced on 15.10.2026; the date 31.12.2027 is a placeholder, only the year is stated (LOK Report, 15.10.2026).
