Project
Prague Airport Railway – Phase 1: Bubny–Výstaviště
Investment
approx. CZK 5.6 billion in construction costs for the Bubny–Výstaviště section (roughly EUR 220 million); the EU Connecting Europe Facility co-financed about 85% of eligible costs of ca. CZK 2.96 billion (≈ CZK 2.5 billion in EU funds)
Status
Completed / in operation

On 1 August 2025, the roughly 1.3 km long, newly double-tracked and electrified section between the new Praha-Bubny station and the new Praha-Výstaviště stop entered service (limited operation initially, full timetable towards Kladno from 4 August). The section is the third stage of the eleven-part "Prague – Airport – Kladno" project, which will eventually link central Prague by rail to Václav Havel Airport; the actual airport connection is not expected before 2029/2030. Praha-Bubny is Prague's first entirely new mainline station building in about 40 years and is linked via an underground passage to the Vltavská metro station (line C).
