At a recent plan exhibition in Plank am Kamp (about 100 visitors), ÖBB reported on the comprehensive renewal of the roughly 34 km Kamptalbahn on the Hadersdorf am Kamp – Horn section by 2032: track, switches and signalling, control and safety technology are being modernised, trains are to run at up to 100 km/h, journey time falls by about seven minutes, and from December 2027 the line is prepared for battery-electric trains. Since autumn 2022, annual line closures have been used to redesign, among others, the stations Sigmundsherberg, Horn, Langenlois and Hadersdorf am Kamp; in 2026 the Zöbing and Stiefern stops follow during a closure between Hadersdorf and Sigmundsherberg from 7 September to 12 December 2026, and the Buchberg stop will be dropped at the timetable change of 13 December 2026. The report names no investment amounts. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only the year 2032 for the modernisation. (LOK Report, 12 Jun 2026)
