ABB agreed on 16 July 2026 to acquire UK flow-control specialist Rotork — the largest acquisition in ABB's history. The cash offer of 503 pence per share represents a premium of about 60% and values Rotork at roughly $5.5bn; completion is expected in the first half of 2027 (second source: Bloomberg). Update (6 Aug 2026): Rotork published the formal scheme document. Shareholder meetings to vote on the takeover are set for 3 September 2026 (proxy deadline 1 September 2026); the deal is being implemented through a court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement under Part 26 of the Companies Act 2006. Completion is still expected in the first half of 2027.
