EQT fund to acquire A-Train, operator of Arlanda Express

The fund EQT Active Core Infrastructure I has agreed to acquire 100% of A-Train AB from its current shareholders; A-Train runs the Arlanda Express, which links Stockholm and Arlanda airport in 18 minutes, and holds usage and operating rights until 2050 under a public-private partnership with the state. The report gives no price; EQT says it will back A-Train's ongoing SEK 3 billion (EUR 280 million) investment programme for a new high-speed fleet by about 2030, which raises seating capacity by more than 50%, and plans a more flexible pricing model. Completion is subject to regulatory approvals and the consent of Arlandabanan Infrastructure AB. (LOK Report, 22 Dec 2025)
