Mercedes-Benz inaugurates €1bn Kecskemét plant expansion

Mercedes-Benz has inaugurated the roughly €1 bn plant expansion in Kecskemét — doubling the plant area from 200 to 440 hectares, now the largest Mercedes plant in Europe. At the same time, series production of the all-electric C-Class began; the workforce is set to grow from around 5,000 to 9,000–10,000 employees. Update (14 July 2026): Mercedes-Benz has inaugurated the expansion of its Kecskemét plant and started production of the all-electric C-Class there. (electrive, 14 July 2026)
