ÖBB-Infrastruktur is renewing the Salzach bridge between Gries im Pinzgau and Bruck-Fusch on the Salzburg–Wörgl line, investing around EUR 20 million; construction begins in July 2026 and the work is due to be finished by April 2029. The more than 100-year-old steel truss bridge (built in 1902 and 1915, about 57 m long) will be largely dismantled and replaced by two single-track steel-concrete composite superstructures about 60 m long; the foundations will be strengthened and the track, overhead line and technical systems renewed, which should remove the existing speed restrictions. Work proceeds section by section with only one track closed at a time, so no replacement bus service is needed, which explains the construction period running to 2029. Announced on 26 June 2026. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only the month April 2029 as the end. (LOK Report, 26 Jun 2026)
