Tesla plans 3,500 new jobs at Grünheide plant

According to the annual report of Tesla Manufacturing Brandenburg SE for 2025, published on 19 July 2026, Tesla plans around 3,500 new jobs at Grünheide and a long-term increase to up to 7,500 vehicles per week (around 375,000 per year; 2025: approx. 202,000 vehicles with around 11,000 employees). Battery cell production is also to be expanded to integrate the value chain from cell to finished vehicle at the site; the plant is set to supply more than 30 markets in future. Tesla makes the expansion conditional on economic developments and points to geopolitical risks for European battery manufacturing.
