On 15 June 2026 Kesko agreed to buy the building-services wholesalers Dahl in Sweden and Brødrene Dahl in Norway and Denmark from the French group Saint-Gobain, the largest acquisition in its history. The price is €1.2bn on a debt-free basis, or €1.518bn including lease liabilities; the businesses had sales of almost €2.1bn in 2025 and, according to Kesko, run about 190 outlets with around 2,700 staff. They are to continue as three units under their own brands. The deal is initially financed with a bridge loan from Danske Bank and Nordea (Kesko release of 15 Jun 2026, published by Arctic Today). Update (24 Sep 2026): The European Commission cleared the deal unconditionally; Kesko expects completion by the end of 2026 (Kesko). Update (8 Oct 2026): Kesko plans a rights issue of about €500–700m to refinance part of the bridge loan and has called an extraordinary general meeting for 30 October 2026 (Kesko, 8 Oct 2026).
