LDz Cargo to cut 300 jobs at Latvia's rail freight arm

The freight subsidiary of Latvia's state railway will start a collective dismissal of 300 of its most recent 1,037 employees on 1 August, around 150 of them in Daugavpils. Reasons: the geopolitical situation, sanctions on Russia/Belarus, shrinking freight volumes (Q1: -18%) and higher Russian rail tariffs.
