Nokia plans to cut up to 253 jobs in Finland, affecting Espoo, Tampere and Oulu, just under 4% of its roughly 6,800 staff in the country. Change negotiations with employee representatives began on 12 October 2026, and the cuts are expected to take effect from 2 November 2026 according to the European Restructuring Monitor. Nokia wants to cut costs and redirect resources to defence, AI and data centres; the split across sites and units is open (Evertiq citing Yle and Helsingin Sanomat, 9 Oct 2026).
