Phase 1 of 200 MW is due to start construction in 2026, with phase 2 growing to 600 MW; about 2,000 workers expected during construction and around 300 in operation.

Sesterce wants to use the existing infrastructure of the closed Kaipola paper mill (grid connection, water, buildings, transport links) for an AI campus run on renewable power; the company says it already has an anchor customer. For every megawatt consumed, Sesterce pledges to bring one megawatt of new renewable generation onto the Finnish grid within ten years of start-up, and cooling uses a closed liquid loop without drinking water; in the long run the company aims for more than 1 GW of computing capacity in Finland. The investment figure comes from the company and permits are still pending (Sesterce release via Cision, 8 Oct 2026; second source: City of Jämsä, 8 Oct 2026).
