Ferrero plans first Romanian factory in Timișoara

Italian confectionery group Ferrero has confirmed it will set up its first production plant in Romania in Timișoara, saying the purchase of an existing factory is in its final stage. Ferrero has not said which factory, how much it is investing or how many jobs will be created; according to Giuseppe Pana, managing director for Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova, more details will follow in due course. Until now the group has only imported and distributed in Romania, most recently with sales of almost RON 2bn (about €400m) and 119 staff (Financiarul.ro citing Ziarul Financiar, 8 Sep 2026).
