Romgaz notifies Azomureș takeover to competition authority

Romanian state gas producer Romgaz formally notified its acquisition of Azomureș, Romania's largest fertilizer maker, to the Competition Council and the CEID investment screening commission on 15 July; the regulator has up to 45 days to decide. Outcome (1 September 2026): The acquisition of Azomureș assets by Romgaz has been completed: the last suspensive condition (antitrust clearance) was met on 28 August 2026, and closing took place on 1 September 2026.
