On 4 August 2026 Vattenfall won two sites in Denmark's offshore wind tender: Hesselø with 800 MW in the Kattegat about 30 km off the coast, and Nordsøen Midt with 1,000 MW in the North Sea about 20 km off Hvide Sande — at least 1,800 MW combined. The permits are granted for an initial 30 years and can be extended by a further ten; the grid connection points lie roughly 50 km inland. Vattenfall's announcement gives neither an investment figure nor a commissioning date. Update (04.08.2026): According to the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities, both wind farms are scheduled to supply power from 2032 (KEFM, 04.08.2026: https://www.kefm.dk/aktuelt/nyheder/2026/aug/vattenfall-vindkraft-as-skal-bygge-havvindmoelleparker-i-nordsoeen-og-kattegat). Announced on 04.08.2026; completion date is a placeholder (only the year 2032 is known).
