The Danish government decides on additional rail funding: EUR 150 million (DKK 1.1 billion) for the upgrade at Ringsted and the simplification of Copenhagen Central Station, EUR 360 million (DKK 2.7 billion) to complete the signalling programme and EUR 13 million (DKK 0.1 billion) for 200 km/h running between Ringsted and Odense

The money comes on top of the allocations in the Infrastructure Plan 2035 and is meant to secure the upgrade at the Ringsted bottleneck, the simplification of the central station, the switch to new signalling on the rest of the main network and in Greater Copenhagen, and 200 km/h running for DSB's coming electric trains.

The Danish government is topping up rail funding beyond the Infrastructure Plan 2035: EUR 150 million (DKK 1.1 billion) goes to the upgrade at the Ringsted bottleneck and the simplification of Copenhagen Central Station, and a further EUR 13 million (DKK 0.1 billion) to 200 km/h running between Ringsted and Odense, so that DSB's coming electric trains can be used to full effect. Another EUR 360 million (DKK 2.7 billion) is to complete the signalling programme, which already runs on the S-Bahn network, in central and western Jutland, north of Aarhus and on lines in Zealand and on Falster, and now moves on to the rest of the main network and the busiest lines around Copenhagen. The date is a placeholder: the decision date is not given, so the day of the report is used (LOK Report, 20 Oct 2025).
