Transport Infrastructure Ireland and the NTA have awarded the operation and maintenance of Dublin's Luas to KeolisAmey; the contract, worth about EUR 1.3 billion, was signed on 12 March 2026 and runs for an initial seven years with an option for six more. The handover from Transdev, whose contract awarded in 2019 is expiring, was planned for 1 September 2026, and an improved timetable with extra peak-time services is due from 2027. According to the report, the joint venture has run the Docklands Light Railway in London since 2014 and operates the Metrolink network in Manchester; for Luas Finglas, TII says it is ready to proceed once funding is secured.
