The roughly 6.6 km second phase of the Tampere tram runs from the city centre across the artificial island of Näsisaari to the Lentävänniemi district. An initial section to Santalahti (2 km, 3 stops) opened on 7 August 2023, and the full route to Lentävänniemi has been in regular operation since January 2025. Line 1 now spans about 24 km in total.
