Mandatum buys 78.4% of Swedish asset manager Cliens

Finnish insurer and asset manager Mandatum agreed on 13 Aug 2026 to buy 78.4% of Cliens Holding, the parent of Stockholm-based asset manager Cliens Kapitalförvaltning, for SEK 705m in cash (about €64m). Cliens managed around SEK 36bn at the end of June 2026, has 26 employees and keeps its own brand; management and staff retain 21.6%. Update (16.10.2026): After clearance from the Swedish financial supervisor and competition authority, Mandatum has completed the purchase (Mandatum, 13 Aug and 16 Oct 2026).
