Samsung ends production in Galanta, about 800 jobs lost

Samsung is ending production at its plant in Galanta, as the Slovak economy ministry announced on 27 Feb 2026, citing high energy prices. According to the factsheet of Eurofound's European Restructuring Monitor, about 800 employees, mainly in production and engineering, are affected; another factsheet gives the end of May 2026 as the end of production.
