According to the EVG union, the board of DB Cargo plans to sell majority stakes in its subsidiaries DB Intermodal Services and TFG Transfracht to close short-term funding gaps; both serve DB Cargo's business in maritime combined transport and, per the EVG, provide container and infrastructure services for industrial goods. The report names no buyer, price or timetable. The EVG opposes the sale, warns of lost jobs, know-how, customer relationships and market share, and demands, should a sale go ahead, long-term job security, preservation of the collective agreements and co-determination rights (LOK Report, 24 Apr 2026).
