US company US Ballistic is building a 155mm NATO ammunition production line at the Uzina Mecanică Sadu site (Gorj county); Romania's defence minister Radu Miruță signed the contract on 15.09.2026 in Târgu Jiu. The investment is US$25 million over five years, creating 150 jobs in the first two years and more thereafter. Uzina Mecanică Sadu receives around €20 million in rent over ten years, the first year paid in advance, and the upgraded infrastructure remains the plant's property (Digi24, 15.09.2026).
