What was reported speculation on 15 July has become a firm offer: shortly before the expiry of the put-up-or-shut-up deadline extended by the UK Takeover Panel, the DCC board unanimously recommended the improved offer from the Energy Capital Partners / KKR consortium on 27 July 2026 (RNS 'RECOMMENDED ACQUISITION OF DCC ENERGY PLC'). The terms are 6,525 pence in cash per share plus a final dividend of 147.22 pence, plus up to a further 125 pence contingent on the proceeds from the sale of the technology division — up to 6,797.22 pence per share in total, or around £5.8 billion. The shareholder meeting is scheduled for September 2026 and the scheme is expected to become effective in the first quarter of 2027.
