Wolfram Europa builds explosives and ammunition plant near Jēkabpils

Estonian arms and ammunition maker Wolfram Europa is building a combat munitions plant on about 40 ha south of Jēkabpils; the exact site is not disclosed for security reasons. Investment is to rise from about €50m initially to up to €200m over three phases, creating around 200 jobs, with production due to start in the second half of 2027. The government has earmarked €4.8m as a capital grant, payable only if conditions such as €150m of exports in the first phase are met (LSM English, 27 Aug 2026).
