New York-listed critical data centre infrastructure manufacturer Vertiv (headquartered in Westerville, Ohio) announced on 10 August 2026 that it will expand its Letterkenny plant by an additional 7,000 square metres, for which an application is to be filed with Donegal County Council. The expansion is set to create 300 jobs in Ireland's northwest, mostly engineering and operational roles. The company cites growing demand for infrastructure supporting AI, colocation and hyperscale data centre deployments. Vertiv says it has hired more than 500 staff across its Irish sites since the start of 2026 and continues to recruit; besides Letterkenny it operates facilities in Burnfoot (Donegal), Campsie (County Derry), Limerick and Dublin. The project is backed by the state through inward investment agency IDA Ireland. No investment figure was disclosed.
