DB InfraGO finished modernising the Ammerseebahn between Geltendorf and Weilheim on schedule in the night leading into 14 December 2025; trains have been running again since Sunday morning. Over 2024 and 2025, a total of 50,000 m of rail and 40,000 sleepers were replaced and the track bed was rehabilitated over about 20 km; since 11 August 2025 alone this covered about 16,000 m of rail, 20,000 sleepers and 13 km of track bed, plus two sets of points, 13 culverts and the bridge at Albangraben. Geltendorf–Dießen was fully closed from 11 August to 13 December 2025 (replacement service run by Bayerische Regiobahn), and Dießen–Weilheim has been open again since 13 October 2025; the report gives no costs.
