DB modernises platforms and south underpass at Augsburg main station

After the accessible mezzanine opened in 2023, DB InfraGO is now renewing the remaining platforms with their roofs and the southern pedestrian underpass step by step; the south hall closes for several years from 3 Aug 2026. The house platform at track 1 comes first from September (due in Q3 2027), followed by platforms B to E and later new platform heads; for platforms without the heads DB expects about five years of construction. The date is a placeholder: end of 2031 is a rough inference from five years of work starting in autumn 2026 (LOK Report, 29 Jul 2026).
