DB modernises Hagen Hauptbahnhof for about EUR 129 million by 2028

Announced on 9 December 2025: in spring 2026 DB continues the modernisation of Hagen Hauptbahnhof with the renewal of the 470 m platform 2 (tracks 7/8 and 9/10), including a new lift, the roof and work in the underpass, with the rest of the station to follow. Since spring 2025 platform 4 has been rebuilt to about 230 m and lengthened by roughly 70 m (until February 2026) so that longer trains can be accommodated at tracks 11/12. All platforms and the listed station roof are due to be finished by the end of 2028; the federal government, NRW and DB are investing about EUR 129 million.
