Amprion is replacing the existing line with 46 new pylons carrying two additional 380 kV circuits; the existing circuits stay in service during construction. Planning approval came on 21 Aug 2025 and construction was planned to start in June 2026 (the source does not say whether it has), with commissioning planned for 2028.
