DB renews Berlin Stadtbahn and adds Hbf crossover until December

DB InfraGO is closing the long-distance and regional tracks of the Berlin Stadtbahn between Charlottenburg and Ostbahnhof from 14 Jun to 12 Dec 2026. Berlin Hauptbahnhof gets a crossover of four new switches for more flexibility during disruptions, 14 switches are replaced at Ostbahnhof, and bridge expansion joints, fire protection and hall roofs are also worked on. Some long-distance trains use replacement stops, regional lines terminate early or are diverted, and the S-Bahn keeps running except on three summer weekends.
