New Friedrichsdorf signal box now also controls line to Friedberg

The Friedrichsdorf electronic interlocking went live on 23 February 2026 for the station and the sections towards Bad Homburg and Köppern, one day after the planned finish of installation and acceptance work; snow delayed the remainder. Since 27 February 2026 the RB16 has also been running to schedule between Friedrichsdorf and Friedberg, after main works had been under way since July 2025. The project includes a new outer platform, a passing loop and two switches at Rodheim vor der Höhe; acceptance of the Waldstrasse level crossing was still outstanding (LOK Report, 27 Feb 2026).
