The double-track Paditz–Lehndorf section of the Saxon-Franconian trunk line (Leipzig–Hof) was comprehensively modernised: a new electronic signal box, renewed overhead line equipment, three bridges, level crossings and noise barriers. Lehndorf station received two new 155 m platforms; the goal is to raise the permitted speed to up to 160 km/h. Construction began in 2017 in two phases, and Deutsche Bahn's project page now lists the section as completed.
