Deutsche Bahn plans upgrade between Dresden and Freital

Over about 2.5 km between Dresden main station and the "Altplauen" rail overpass, tracks and overhead lines are to be renewed, a new electronic signal box built, and two 740 m overtaking tracks added at the Dresden-Altstadt freight yard; a new accessible stop at Nossener Brücke is also planned. According to the operator's project page the scheme is currently in the planning phase, with coordination ongoing between the City of Dresden and the local transit operator (DVB); no investment volume is stated. The 2028 completion carried over from the source list should be read as a rough target horizon, since the source itself gives no binding date.
