Kitchen maker Menke files for insolvency in Rödinghausen

Kitchen furniture maker Menke filed for insolvency at the Bielefeld district court on 27 July 2026 (case 43 IN 594/26); Bielefeld lawyer Dr Bero-Alexander Lau was appointed preliminary insolvency administrator. Menke is known as a specialist in flat-pack kitchen furniture and a supplier to the furniture discount segment; sources put the headcount at between roughly 100 and 140, and it has not been officially confirmed. Production had only been moved from Kirchlengern to Rödinghausen in late 2023 — to a site where the kitchen manufacturers Brinkmeier and Störmer had previously failed.
