Hamburg opens new Ottensen S-Bahn station

The new S-Bahn station Hamburg-Ottensen on Bahrenfelder Straße between Altona and Bahrenfeld opened on 31 May 2023 as the 70th station in Hamburg's S-Bahn network. It is served by line S1 (every 10 minutes, every 5 minutes at peak times) and temporarily by S11; construction costs rose from a planned €27 million to nearly €44 million due to delays. The 140-metre-long station has step-free access via an elevator at the eastern entrance, while the western entrance only followed in autumn 2023.
