O2 Telefónica to close 60 of its own shops in Germany

O2 Telefónica is closing around 60 of its roughly 800 O2 shops in Germany by the end of 2026; only company-owned locations are affected, franchise partners are not. The company cites the growing importance of digital sales channels. The shop closures are part of the same restructuring that will cut up to 1,100 full-time positions (€265m of provisions booked for 2026). No separate figure was given for the staff affected in the shops.
