Hitachi Rail invests EUR 7m in Arnstadt signalling site

Hitachi Rail is putting about EUR 7 million into expanding its Arnstadt site, spread over the current and the next financial year, because digital signalling and safety technology is in greater demand. Existing buildings are being modernised and office space reorganised, which frees up about 1,000 m² of additional production space; more efficient building and air-conditioning technology plus further infrastructure and energy measures are included. Arnstadt is the group's global competence centre for mainline signalling and builds, among other things, electronic interlockings and ETCS technology; the report names no new jobs, and the date is the day of the report.
