The insolvent hospital is being closed after takeover negotiations with IGPmed of Bonn failed. The last patients will be discharged on 28 November 2025, and 118 employees will receive notice of termination. The Linz-Remagen joint hospital had filed for insolvency at the end of March 2025; a solution was found for Linz. IGPmed wants to buy the property and attempt a reopening in the first half of 2026.
