- Poland's infrastructure minister Dariusz Klimczak and Germany's transport minister Patrick Schnieder sign an agreement in Warsaw on modernising and expanding rail links between the two countries (reported on 16 February 2026)
The agreement is a roadmap for more passenger and freight services and shorter journey times on Warsaw–Berlin, Kraków–Wrocław–Zielona Góra–Berlin, Gdańsk–Szczecin–Berlin and Przemyśl–Kraków–Wrocław–Leipzig, for a joint analysis of high-speed projects on three corridors and for coordinated use of EU funds (CEF 2028–2034).
The transport ministers of Poland and Germany have signed an agreement in Warsaw on modernising and expanding rail links between the two countries; according to the Polish minister, more than 1.2 million rail passengers travelled between Poland and Germany in 2025. As a roadmap it is meant to bring more passenger and freight services and shorter journey times on Warsaw–Berlin, Kraków–Wrocław–Zielona Góra–Berlin, Gdańsk–Szczecin–Berlin and Przemyśl–Kraków–Wrocław–Leipzig, and both sides also intend to analyse the potential of high-speed projects on the corridors Warsaw–Poznań–Berlin, Warsaw–Wrocław–Leipzig–Frankfurt am Main and Warsaw–Wrocław–Prague–Munich. It also provides for close coordination on TEN-T investment, including dual civil and military use, above all through the Connecting Europe Facility in the 2028–2034 EU budget (LOK Report, 16 Feb 2026).
