Announced on 20 July 2026: according to the federal government's reply to a parliamentary question by Die Linke, citing DB AG, several construction measures are planned on the Berlin (Ostbahnhof/Ostkreuz)–Frankfurt (Oder) line from January to September 2029, including about 50 new switches, 90 km of renewed track, eight new interlockings, six renewed level crossings and 110 km of new overhead line with masts. Also planned are two platforms extended to 210 m, a new bridge at the A10, a new pedestrian overpass in Hangelsberg, ETCS equipment from Erkner to Kunowice in Poland and the extension of three tracks to 740 m. The focus is the Hangelsberg–Frankfurt (Oder) section, while only individual measures with smaller impact are planned between Erkner and Hangelsberg; the sequence, type of closure (full or single-track) and duration of closures are still being agreed with the parties entitled to access the network. The date is a placeholder: the article names only the construction period January to September 2029 and no closure dates; the end of that period is used here as the completion date.
