Cottbus main station completes barrier-free rebuild

Deutsche Bahn fundamentally rebuilt Cottbus main station between 2016 and 2020: all seven platforms were reconstructed step-free with elevators, with platform 1 the final section to open in spring 2020. A new, extended pedestrian tunnel now links the northern city centre directly to the platforms and station building. Deutsche Bahn, the state of Brandenburg and the city of Cottbus jointly invested around EUR 30 million in the project.
