Cabling and construction work has been under way since 2024/2025 during live operations (including cabling between Hochspeyer and Landstuhl in June 2025), after which speeds of up to 200 km/h will be possible on some sections. Completion is planned for 2029; the investment volume is not publicly disclosed.
