DB InfraGO put the extended continuous train control system (LZB) between Petershausen and Rohrbach on the Munich–Ingolstadt line into operation at the end of February 2026 (report of 12 March 2026) and invested about EUR 22.7 million in it. The system monitors speed and train spacing continuously, so the existing line can be used more efficiently; once the ongoing track programme is finished, trains may run at up to 190 km/h instead of today's 160 km/h in the section, which is meant to bring shorter journey times and more stable operation. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only the end of February, and 28 February 2026 is used. (LOK Report, 12 Mar 2026)
