U3 runs again between Mundsburg and Barmbek after bridge works

On the historic U3 ring line between Mundsburg and Barmbek (built 1907 to 1912), twelve bridges are to be repaired, including eight steel bridges and four stone viaducts; 5,800 sleepers are also to be replaced and the Mundsburg, Hamburger Strasse and Dehnhaide stations refurbished. Work was due to begin in March 2026, with the line closed from 11 May to 5 July 2026. With the works completed, the U3 has again run through between Mundsburg and Barmbek since Monday, 6 July 2026.
