Announced on 21 April 2026: From 20 July 2026 until probably 12 December 2026, DB InfraGO is renovating the railway embankment between Weilheim and Peißenberg on the Pfaffenwinkelbahn Augsburg–Schongau and renewing track bed, sleepers and rails; train services are suspended on the section and buses replace trains. Several slow-speed sections currently hamper operations because the track subgrade is unstable; deep soil stabilisation by cutter-soil-mixing injection and hydro-cementation to secure the slope are being used. A complete track renewal over about two kilometres, with roughly 8,000 tonnes of ballast and 3,076 sleepers, follows; until work begins, Bayerische Regiobahn is adjusting timetables from 4 May, and afterwards trains can again run at regular speed.
